Education

Alongside the hatchery, we intend to provide an educational and interactive outreach program showcasing not only our work in the hatchery but also a host of other, lesser-known marine species native to the UK.

We look forward to offering workshops to members of the public and school groups to learn about the life of lobsters, Whitby’s unique fishing heritage and how much difference marine conservation can make.

Marine Education

We offer engaging outreach programmes for all ages, including marine education, “Be a Marine Biologist for the Day” workshops and sustainable fishing sessions.

Our programmes celebrate and inspire an understanding of fishing, marine biology and conservation, with topics including marine ecology, climate change, fisheries science, fishing heritage, lobster life cycles, rockpool species, coastal environments and more.

Whether you’re a school, college, university or community group, we’d love to hear from you.
