Inshore and Small-Scale Fisheries Consortium

The ISSF Consortium is an informal partnership of representatives from commercial fishing, academic, government and NGO sectors, who are collectively seeking to safeguard socially, economically and environmentally sustainable inshore and small-scale fisheries that support the livelihoods and communities that depend on them.

After many months of work, the consortium had an opportunity to present their findings and plead to the policy makers to help reverse the declining trend of inshore fishing communities.

Whitby Lobster Hatchery founder alongside Whitby & Scarbourgh MP Alison Hume. Later there was a talk from the fisheries minsiter Daniel Zeichner MP.

Thanks to all involved at the ISSF for bringing this great event together and doing what they can to try bring some hope back to our vital coastal communties.
