ALL SUNGLASSES COME WITH A UNQIUE WHITBY LOBSTER HATCHERY CASE
When winter storms hit the Cornish coast, Harlyn Bay provides shelter from the predominant winds and produces steep, hollow waves perfectly barreling close to the shoreline. The Harlyn model, with its circular panto shape frame, was created to fit a more casual and style-orientated position amongst our adventure-focused range and, for that reason, doesn’t feature our polarised lens.
Fitzroy (RRP £95) [Polarised]
Inspired by the powerful winter storms that inundate our coastline with both swell and plastic pollution, Fitzroy is our classic, first-launched style that remains our bestseller. The style takes it’s name from the shipping forecast’s maritime zone in the Bay of Biscay where the most powerful low pressure systems redirect and build in strength before setting up a direct hit to our Cornish shores. This zone itself is named after the pioneering meteorologist Robert FitzRoy - inventor of the world’s first public weather forecast.
Kynance ( £95) [Polarised]
Named after the small, picturesque cove situated near the most southerly point of mainland Britain, our Kynance frame was created as a refined, slimmer style that suits narrower face shapes, to reflect the narrow coastal paths that lead down to the white sanded tidal beach. Boasting dramatic scenery that includes rock stacks and cliffs, it’s a popular destination for the adventurous.
Polarised sunglasses lenses are designed to be able to filter out this horizontal light, therefore reducing the amount of glare that reaches your eyes. Cheaper pairs of polarised sunglasses generally use a thin polarising film on the lenses that will wear off over time. Our sunglasses lenses use a specialised polarisation filter sandwiched between two layers of glass, offering far greater protection.
