Welcoming a New Vessel to Whitby Harbour!

She arrived with the dawn, and after final preparations, she’ll soon be venturing out to bring in sustainable UK crab and lobster.

Here at the Whitby Lobster Hatchery, we’re thrilled to see our local fleet growing. Sustainable practices and strong partnerships, like those we share with Luke and his crew, help us protect our precious marine environment for generations to come.

Luke has always been a proud supporter of our project, regularly bringing in berried hens for the hatchery and helping release juvenile lobsters back into the sea. Thank you, Luke! We’re excited to continue working with you and Our Henry II as we support marine conservation and sustainable fishing together.

We’d also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Woodsmith Foundation for their unwavering support. Their contributions are helping our hatchery strengthen our coastal community and promote resilience and sustainability.
